Reef knot entrance gates

This set of entrance gates were commissioned for a coastal property in Hampshire, and combine traditional forged ironwork with an original contemporary design. The brief from our client was for gates with a subtle maritime flavour and so we spent time developing  this knot motif which captures the playful looping and knotting of rope. Of course the knotting of hot steel is far harder to achieve than actual rope but as with many of our projects a range of custom tooling was developed to make this a little easier.
