Plate entrance gates
Share:
The plate entrance gates form part of a recent package of work for clients in Lewes, East Sussex. The gates have a clean and contemporary feel, harking back to continental ironwork which often features riveted sheet within the design. The use of this material makes for a fantastically rigid structure. The sweeping curves that run throughout, echoing the vista of the south downs which lie beyond.
These entrance gates are split into thirds with the smaller leaf for pedestrian access. We designed a seamless latch which elegantly follows the line of the plate and ensures this curve remains uninterrupted.
The ironwork has been hot dip galvanised and powder coated to RAL 7016.
In addition to these gates we also designed and made a series of freestanding handrails which can also be seen here.
